Cape Town has a vast amount of attractions and it’s the perfect destination for any traveler.
From the gardens, beaches, shopping, adventure aspect and the historical element the city has to offer makes Cape Town a great start to your Garden Route adventure.
I would recommend staying in Cape Town at least 3-4 nights as this will allow enough time for you to fully explore the mother city as well as get over the horrible jet-lag you might be experiencing.
My favorite spot to stay in Cape Town is Tamboerskloof, and the reason for this is that the suburb is really quite with cute restaurants and cafe’s within walking distance of either your apartment or guesthouse. There is a hop on – hop off bus that travels through the suburb on a daily basis that allows for you to take advantage of a complete Cape Town city tour at a fraction of the cost.
If budget allows, V&A Waterfront is another spectacular area to stay in Cape Town, it’s close to all activity departure points, shopping and great restaurants.
